Putting my character design and animation skills to the test creating the main player character for a Game Jam project

Title: Slime Control: The Goo Getaway
Work: 1-Month Game Jam Submission
Application(s): Unity
Roles: Character Artist, VFX Artist
Skills Used/Obtained: Character Design, VFX Art, Communication
Created: [date needed]

Slime Control: The Goo Getaway was our team’s submission for the Metroidvania Month Game Jam that ranked number 41 out of 132 submissions. Alongside designing and animating the main player character as well as one of the enemies, I also contributed some VFX art for the game enemies’ and boss fight — and even pitched the initial game concept.

While this was my first game jam working with a remotely distributed team I was unfamiliar with, I made sure to keep communication open and frequent — especially the coders that had to implement the animations I created. Overall, I’m proud of what we were able to come up with in such a short time frame, especially after meeting each other for the first time to start the project. I look forward to any work we may do together again in the future!
